Are there still places called "arcades" these days?

Flash back over a decade ago when a couple games in particular owned the scene, and crowds would gather around these refrigerator-sized machines to watch somebody's ass get handed to them in a digital fashion. Loser pays, winner stays, as the old adage went. As a kid who had seen both sides of the coin countless times, I ultimately find a piece of my childhood ego has been retroactively crushed after watching this vastly superior skill-

You can download those types of old skool games and play them on your comp. The downloadable arcade game file is called "Emulator"

It's not the same though, sadly. That era is gone. However there's talks that a lot of these old games will come back for Xbox Live arcade, which is cool.

My ex-boyfriend used to collect those full sized arcade games and old pinball machines. We had about 20 in the basement. I always only played the pinball machines, though. =-)

That era is gone, yeah that SUCKS.!!!!
