are there any REAL personal trainers here?

what is up with every fucking personal trainer following this hammer strength/cybex dogma of, 'if it aint cybex/HS, it aint shit'?

every fucking personal trainer at my gym 'trains' their clients using 95% machines.

i saw this one lady today using the cybex bench with only a 5lb plate on each side. they were conversing back and forth and just totally laughing it up DURING the 'set'. oh how i wanted to put a bullet between her and her pt's eyes.

and another thing, what is your sick obsession with swiss balls? i swear to god, if you can fathom a way to incorporate a swiss ball into an exercise, you fucking people will.

i also love when you put your clients on the assisted dips/chin machine, and put on like 5lb less than their bodyweight to help 'assist' them through their 'set.'

no offense to those people who actually know their shit and do a good job. the rest of your cronies need to burn in hell though.

LOL.
Totally.

I'm a PT. ya gotta realize your job as a trainer is give the clients what they want. I had a few clients who really didn't want to train hard, they just wanted to pretend they were training and really just waste their money. You don't argue with the client or you will be history.

Also, think about it?? If a person really was motivated to get in shape and lose weight do you think they would be dumb enough to hire a personal trainer?? 90% of the people who get trained are morons anyway and quit after like 6 months. Almost all women just want to work abs and no one wants to actually break a sweat. It's disturbing but it makes me some decent cash on the side.

why didnt you tell them to fucking work, or find someone else?

dude they are paying me to do nothing... i am not a rocket scientist but this is easy money... no i personally don't like them... they are too salty :)

yo....machines and swiss balls have their place....the machines usually are suggested due to a lack of confidence by the trainer....I like swiss balls for some exercises, especially if there is a lack of stabilizing support form using...ta-da - machines

lack of confidence?

ps, you're not hatin' are you? :)

PT's are just like anyone else.......do the least work you can for your pay.

It doesn't take much explaining to throw someone on a machine and start exercising.

i am shocked one of the PT's here didn't write a FAQ yet, explaining alll of this information.

people are always on here asking similar questions, and i think a lot of others would like to know as well.

corn, you found your calling.

The problem is, most middle-aged clients have zero core strength and coordination. Tends to happen when one sits on one's ass all day. The swiss ball is an easy way to address those issues while strength training at the same time.

-casualbb (lookin' into being a 24HR PT this summer...yes, yes, hold all criticism. I only picked it b/c I don't have to spend time and money getting bullshit certifications)
