They can be the most aggravating people in the world, "do this, take me there, give me this." Always wanting something, taking your time and causing you to miss out on being with your buddies or whatever.

you forgot the ever annoying, "are we there yet?".

"A child's love is like a whisper
given in little ways we do not hear.
but if you listen closely
it will be very clear

They often do not say it loud but
in how they come to you
Daddy will you play with me?
Mommy, tie my shoe.

The many ways they tell
you changes as they grow.
Dad I made the team today!
Mom I've got to go!

Pop I need some money
You see there's this girl at school...
Mama I met a boy today
and wow he is so cool!

Dad I've got something to tell you...
I think she is the one.
Mom, he asked me to marry him...
Would you love him as your son?

Dad I've got some news for you
It's gonna be a boy!
Mom I'm kinda scared of this
yet I'm filled with joy!

A child's love is like a whisper
given in little ways we do not hear
but if you listen closely
it will become very clear

They often do not say it loud
but in how they come to you...
Grandpa will you play with me?
Grandma tie my shoe...

It's never ending
A blessing from above
Listen to the whispers
of a child's love"

I believe that children are the single greatest gift that you can give to yourself and the one that you love. To look at them and see a miracle that you had a part in creating is such a blessing. You can have all your fancy cars and tons of money....cannot begin to compare to the love of your own child. Fame and fortune are fleeting at best....family and love can last forever.

As a side note...and not tryin to embarass her. After reading her post on this thread....I just want to say that anyone that has had the opportunity to see Spatterson interact with her son should consider themselves fortunate. She is as much a gift to motherhood as it is a gift to her.

I can't say anything better than it's already been said, but I have to second what Hannibal said. Spats is a wonderful, wonderful mother.

Being around her son, my new niece, and another friend's new baby really makes me want some of my own.

I could have what I thought was the worst day in the world, then I walk in the door at home and hear "Daddy's home"....it makes everything else seem so unimportant.
