Are board shorts required for physique contests?

I've thought of getting cut and entering a physique contest but I don't like the board shorts. My best part of my physique are my wheels. I have Speedos that are mid thigh length. Would those be allowed? I'm 5'9" with 27" quads but they don't show in board shorts.

They all have their own guidelines on color/type/pattern, or whatever

Depends on the people that organised the events, all state the requirements of the competition.

I was at one show that issued participants NPC official boxer briefs haha said NPC NPC NPC across the band. I got some, they're badass
