Apple or No?

I have never used a Mac and have been debating on getting one, what are your views on macs? I know there some of the best notebooks around....

Don't go and buy one unless you've used one. Being a PC user for over 10 years now, I just can't deal with macs... they're hard to get use to. My school has macs in some of its computer lab and I just can't deal with it. I can use it for web browsing, but when it comes to anything else its just a pain in the neck. They are really good machines though when it comes to video and picture editing, it's just something to get use to. So what I recommend is to to an apple store, or find a friend or coworker who has one and try to use one.

I see no problem on getting an Apple now that they are using Intel chip you will be able to install Windows XP on it and dual-booting MacOS and WindowsXP.

I was a Windows user until I started using my girlfriend's computer. Just two weeks ago I bought an iMac and absolutely love it.

I have an iBook and like it..it did take a little to get used to just because Windows has been force fed to us for the past 10+ years

I started using macs on 2001 when I entered on advertising school and since then I just cant imagine myself not using a mac. Its really good! U wont regret it on buying one

I too am an avid apple user. I was just like you.. Not sure about Mac's when I bought my first one just a few months ago. Liked it so much I turned around and bought a new apple laptop too. Both can run Mac operating systems or Windows XP (or both at the same time). Definitely a great investment. Although... a lot depends on what you're going to be using it for. Gaming and such would be better suited for a PC, but photoshop, graphic design, web design etc. is "easier" on a Mac. Good Luck! I bought it for an all purpose machine and am loving both!

I have been working n the computer field for about 7 years now and always used windows based pc's. I got a mac about 9 months ago and love it very much they really are not to terribly hard to get use to everything is just very simply on them and you might have a tendency to over analyze certain procedures on it. Anyway get one you won't be disappointed!!!

Well mac's are user friendly, but I would stick with what you know, windows. If you switch to mac, you'll have to learn a whole new operating system. Kinda like me with Linux a while back....I didn't have the patience to learn it.

Over the past ten years I have used a Mac and home and a PC at work. The Mac OS is much more stable than windows, and you rarely have any virus problems.

The new Mac OS is built on a BSD Linux kernal, and they are much more secure than are Windoze.

Had Apple had the legal budget to do so, the would have persued more than 15 patent infringment lawsuits with MS, but MS would have tied them up in Court until Apple was banktrupt.

You can thank MS for a state of mediocracy of expectaion and performance in the PC word due to a lack of competition.

Macs are great machines and the Mac OS X is a great OS. I run Windoze on my Mac, so i have the best of both worlds, and I find myself less and less interested in what PC's have to offer
