Rented it today. Just got done watching it. I must admit, its actually pretty good. Its a little slow at times, but overall good IMO.

The movie does have a lot of heart. Not sure about historical accuracy but...it certainly makes up for it with the visceral sense of desperation and determination you get identifying with the main character.

I loved the movie too.

I am not sure about the historical accuracy but I do know Mel Gibson did a preview with the indigenous Mexicans to get their take (and approval) and from what I read they liked it too.

Yeah I remember seeing some behind the scenes thing before it came out, where he was surrounded by these indigenous tribes. Must've been quite an experience for everyone.
