Apartment shopping sucks!

It's not that I have incredibly high standards. It's simply the fact that I won't live in a shoebox (I have enough of those) or a dump! I spent all day yesterday looking for an apartment and only found one that I felt like I could honestly "come home to." The problem is that it was about $75 more than what I was willing to spend. I make find a way to make it workable anyway. I move Tuesday regardless, but I'm moving in with family instead of my own place. At least for now.

Let me just say it again...apartment shopping sucks.

i know the feeling. when we moved back to PA, we settled on the first place we saw. we got pretty lucky actually. this place is big enough and the rent is reasonable. we've looked for other places in the past year or so and can't find anywhere that will fit us and all of our stuff, let alone all of the animals.

oh wait, i vowed this morning that both the dogs will be gone by the end of the week. ok, that will make future apartment hunting a lot easier for us.

we can't actually move into an apartment with all the stuff we have. we're in half of a double house right now. we need the storage room the basement provides. we will have to move within a year though, at least as i forsee things.

good luck! you'll find a decent place soon enough. you can't do much worse than one of my friends....$500/mo for a 20x20 (including bathroom) in the northern bay area, san francisco. i forget the exact name of the town he was living in. he said that price was a BARGAIN for the area! i visited him once, and we crammed 4 of us into that tiny little place for the night. that truely did suck.

The place I found was 850 sq. feet. It was very roomy and even had a walk-in closet with almost enough room for my shoes. Sigh.
