You've probably seen the infomercial.
People standing around a mall with an elasticisized waist band containing a portable "tens" unit.
The tens unit pads apply electric current to the skin over the abs causing the abs to contract.
Since the pulse is short, they claim you're doing hundreds of ab "crunches" in a session.
I've played with tens units before (not Abtronic) and find the current to be pleasant
and definitely capable of creating strong muscle contractions,
but the ones I tried were plugged into a wall via a 9 volt step-down transformer.
The problem with such units is the pads need belts to hold them in place, and it takes time to "strap yourself in".
But once in place they can definetly give your abs a good workout.
But I wonder how a small battery powered unit could produce
a current sufficient to make a strong "crunch" motion.
Has anyone tried or bought an Abtronic?
Whattaya think? Any good?
How often do you have to replace the battery?
