The wife and I took our 2 kids and two of our nephews to this movie Fri. night. It is a very fun movie for kids of all ages. I was laughing my ass off the whole movie. Of course it has its "sad" moments but the gloss over these real quick with something that gets the theater laughing again.

Scrat (which is something like a squirrel) is classic. Sucks to be him......always trying to get a nut.

Sid (three toed sloth) a smart-ass punk like dude that is hilarious because of his idiosyncrasies.

Manny (a whooly mammoth) is a big ole teddy bear like dude with a dry sense of humor.

Diego (a saber tooth tiger) is a bad ass that shows he does have a heart when push comes to shove.

It amazes me how realistic they make these "cartoons" now. Graphics and details are outstanding.

I give the movie two thumbs up.

My husband and I took our 5 year old to see it, we LOVED it! I think my husband and I enjoyed it more than our son!! Very funny and touching.... def 2 thumbs up!

One of my gurls was sick most of the weekend so I we missed it. I guess the ex will have to "beat me to it" and take them next weekend.

Anyone see Jimmy Neutron? The ex got to it first - LOL so I missed it, along w/Shrek. I feel kind of funny renting a "kids" movie for myself... feels "dorky" renting a movie to watch alone anyway....

We usually don't go to the movies.....we rent or buy the DVD's..... I forgot how expensive going to the movies is these days. $34 just for tickets....... 6 cokes = $18........ 2 XL popcorns $8....... and 4 candy $10 total of $70.

DVD's are around $15 - $20........ Oh well.

BTW.....the lines were horrendous. We were in line 45 minutes prior to show time and when we got there the lie was already all the way down one hall and up the other side.

I feel ya about the cost! One adult + FOUR kids - LOL!

We NEVER buy stuff at the concession stand (can't afford it - hehee) We go to the grocery store first and buy GOBS of candy for a fraction of the cost. :)

I took my G/F to it this weekend thinking it would be shrek like. It wasn't. Very little adult humor at all. Ray Romano was a poor choice for a voice over. Animation was top notch, and it had it's moments. IMO It's great for kids but the story wasn't deep at all for adults (return a baby to the indian).
The little squirrel made the movie.

Any humor was slapstick at best, no witty puns like Shrek had. I guess I'm spoiled.
That's an honest opinion of the movie, it really wasn't that funny.

But for kids, it's a great choice.

It's a great family movie. I took my oldest son to see it.
Hilarious.

Shrek was awesome for sure......no Ice Age didn't and can't compete with Shrek.

It is a "kids" movie....... I don't think they were going for the "adult" humor lines.

Ok and Shrek's storyline was very profound! :D Get a chick in a castle and take her back to a guy so they can be married.

Scrat was very entertaining.

Exactly...... although there were a ton of teenagers walking out that seemed to like it.

Don't get me wrong I liked it, But I was watching the animation and the background scenes. There was just enough humor to keep it flowing however in the middle it seems to just drag on.
Yes great kid movie, average adult movie.
Compare it to shrek and see how far it falls. But I think this was aimed more at kids then sherk was.

I found Shrek way funnier then Ice Age...
I feel Shrek was aimed more at adults and Ice Age at kids, but, both were funny......what I think is really nice is that there are still
family oriented movies out......damn, my hubby and I saw Showtime on the weekend and alot of parents brought their yonug kids to it.......unbelievable....
