Bass is my main instrument, but I taught guitar too for a long time.
The better you get.....the harder it is to stop playing. What I mean is you set down to play for a few minutes and you lose 2 hours or more..lol. I'm looking for a new rig right now.
I've been playing guitar for 37 years. I'm still not any good, but I can at least amuse myself. Typical baby boomer amateur guitarist -- great tone, great vintage gear, lousy chops.
Ive been playing since '84 and I can go for hours just riffing smoke on the water and crazy train, and Im getting pretty good on the opening of stairway to heaven. I can also play iron man, and I taught myself the riff for smells like teen spirit. I love playing my strat with heavy overdrive and sustain.
I played for 3 hours a day in high school - sometimes much more if I didn't have stuff to do. I sold all of my guitar stuff before moving here and I miss it - although I haven't actually played in years now.
I've always wanted a Paul Reed Smith with a purple flame top and the flying bird inlays.
