Anyone own (or ever owned) a Jeep?

I have a wrangler with a $2200 two piece removable hardtop. It still got the shit vandalized out of it on multiple occasions.
I think it's actually quieter on the highway with the top and doors off because it doesnt whistle at all. They are more fun than most any other car you can drive...

lol driving hard it gets less than 15mpg. I dont really know if it would be called ''reliable'' since i've driven it like a Jeep too much.PICK3 said:
I've always wanted a Wrangler, as they are the most fun you can have in an automobile, IMO. I take my grand off road, and there's nothing like your heart pounding going down a steep incline on a washed out bush road and you're teetering on two wheels.....all at about 2 miles an hour. Think about the fun you can have at cruising speeds.

Well, you may want to rethink this then, as there are other more practical choices to make, like anything 4 wheel drive with a higher than usual ground clearance.
Wranglers are built for offroading.

I had a Wrangler and loved it. I sold it when I moved to Japan. If you have a family, then it is definitely best as a second car. The highway noise is kind of a pain in the butt, but I thought it was a small price to pay for having such a cool ride.

I have wanted a Wrangler for years but it's just impractical as a daily
driver vehicle, especially if you dress business casual or better for work.
And it seems I'm always needing a PU truck for something, which is why I have driven a PU for years.
Either 4x4 or at least 4x2 with high suspension, skid plates and larger tires such as a Prerunner or Desert Runner..
I'm about 3 years out from getting a new vehicle and still think about
ways to make a Jeep Wrangler more practical for daily use..
Either getting a small trailer or getting an older one as a 3rd vehicle.
Soft tops are not easy to put up and down quickly if it starts raining,
hard tops require 2 people or a garage lift to take on and off.
LOL @ the Gas MPG question...
Jeeps are relatively simple mechanically, so therefore easy to work on when they break.
Lower than average reliability, but inline with most other US cars and trucks..
I have ridden many times in Wranglers both on road and off, and nothing
is as free, fun and cool as riding around on a warm sunny day in shorts, tanktop, flip flops, a tight fitting hat and shades..

I have a 2000 Wrangler Sport, first car I ever had new. I love the thing, finally got a chance to wash and wax the beat this past weekend. No Top, no Windows and no doors...I love the summer time!!!!
They are a blast, have to get used to the drive as you feel every bump on the road, but it's worth it.
It out in the parking lot right now, I'm just waiting for lunch so I can cruise around for a bit and enjoy the day.
Also it's a blast to take it off road, mine is a stock, but it's amazing the terrain a stock jeep can handle. I'd love to take a Rubi off road though dual lockers would be fun.
If you are looking to buy one I highly recommend it...and if you do buy one just remember to wave!!!!

Mine is no wrangler-its the Golden Eagle of the lot, and its kicked many a 4x4 azz in the backcountry.

Those sidepipes would be squashed within 2 hours in Colorado or Utah....but it does look cool and that is 1/2 of being a Jeep owner.
I love my Wrangler but their gas mileage is disappointing.
It has never spun a tire though it has almost rolled a few times. It has...everything.
