Anyone out there who is PROUD to have the 2nd Amendment?

Of course, there are some instances, where guns are effective in preventing the aggressor from carrying-out his crime. However, there are more instances, where a victim would not have even needed a gun, had the aggressor not had access to guns in the first place.

news flash ryan, i'm not republican. the reason they don't work is because they are'nt enforced properly. there needs to be somethign done, i say once you become a criminal you loose your right to own a gun period. that's what i think.

and there you go accusing people again, i thought you were humanist. :)

the situation is not so cut and dried.

Yeah --- we need to have a gun buyback like slick willie did in DC and have all the good little criminals bring in their guns and give them money for them.

I'll show you stats when you first show us statistics from a legitimate, qualified news agency, showing that a substantial amount of crime in the American population has been prevented as a result of owing a gun.

a program which was actually pretty effective.

how do you figure??

many of the guns were blackpowder, blank shooters, single shot shotguns etc.

these can be bought for much less than $100---the price given

people were going out and buying and then turning around and selling to the gov't for a profit.

you think the criminals will turn em in your crazy.

Try reading the NRA magazine like huntmaster and I read. It should and will give you all the information you need. Wife used to feel the same way as you did until she started researching that issue. Once she realized what it was all about she went to a training course and was certified to carry like myself. She still goes to class's and shoots at the range on a regular basis and would not hesitate to shot to kill if she had too.

I am a probably one of the few female gun owners on this board. (Texan :) )

Do I fell it is my right to own/carry a firearm. Yes.

Does it protect me? In my mind it does. I have not crossed that bridge.

God or (insert higher power of choice) bless the USA

LOL, well that's certainly an unbiased, objective newsource.---the NRA Magazine. I might as well call Smith & Wesson up and ask them to send me some literature as well.
