Anyone(men) have this problem when urinating

rrrr

New member
It just started yesterday and happened 3x's. I go to pee and I feel the piss coming and for about 1 sec it feels like something is blocking the pathway at the tip and then it breaks through. Dosen't hurt at all. What the hell do you guys think this is??

maybe you got a leaky faucet, hit up the doc bro.

ZK - I' going to give it a couple of days, but if its still like this I will see my doc. I never heard of anything like this before.

it does sound like prostate. you should run a pipe cleaner down your hole and see if you can clear it out.

Well its been over a day now and it hasen't hapened since(knock on wood). I researched prostatits and the symptoms say not able to pee. If it was an enlarged prostate would the problem I had happen frequently? thanks for all the help.

Alright I made an appointment with my Doc. I went to pee yesterday and this time there was a longer delay before it came out, and once it did I had a tremendous amount of pain at the tip of my penis. The pain was only there when the pee first came out after there was no pain. I looked to see if a stone came out, but didn't see anything. I'm starting to think its kidney stones now. I don't think its the after sex piss, because this never happened before.

Could be a blockage due to a kideny stone....Does it hurt? Did you notice any blood?

How old are you? EPG happens to older folks....over 40....more often over 50...

Drink as much liquid as you can ....horse tail tea is great....hopefuuly you can pass a little stone ...

It could be UTI if you have any pain.....in this case you need antibiotics!

i dont get the impression it is prostate related, since the feeling of obstruction would be in the pelvic region rather than the tip

from what youre saying it sounds like some sort of obstruction, and as said above, some displaced kidney stone could do it

there are some other drugs and salts which can precipitate out of urine, but without taking some blood you cant tell

as for the pain on urination on your last episode, it is consistent if that pain you felt was actually a tear/scratch being made by the obstruction as it moves along

good luck, i can see a catheter or some other nasty piece of medical hardware being used as part of your doc visit...

If it's a stone, you would definitely have had pretty significant lower back (kidney) or abdominal (bladder) pain by now - you would also likely have blood in the urine with most pisses.

Prostatitis is very rare in people under forty - with or without AAS (the risk of this is overstated in my opinion unless you have been a complete imbecile with regards to cycles).

If your doc wants to use a Foley cath on you before doing any urinalysis, run away - FAST! - he/she should have his/her license pulled. He/she will most liklely do a rectal prostate check (which isn't the most fun thing in the world but not nearly as bad as a catheterization).

He/she should also send you for a UA and I would bet money that you will pop positive for some pathogen. If the doc is real sharp, you will be given a RX for some antibiotics pending the UA results.

I had a pathology professor once who said, "If you hear hoofbeats, look for horses, not zebras" - in other words, look for the most common pathology first before moving on to more exotic diagnoses. From what you have posted, I would bet cake on a urinary tract infection.

Good luck and keep us posted for the benefit of others.

From what my doctor friend tells me they 1st must rule out anything life threatening. I went to the ER for a real bad tension type headache (that still hasn't went away) because the EMO doctor told me I must go and I was at the EMO doctor because I couldn't get in touch with my regular doctor. At the hospital they did a CAT Scan of head. What's the chances of a tumor or aneurysm causing the tension type headache? Very very low. Why did they do it? To cover their ass, mostly.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm 25 the pain was only 1 time and it was yesterday. I started to noticed the blockage about 1 week ago. The obstruction dosen't happen everytime I pee, but once in the while,, haven't seen any blood in the urine yet. I'll keep you all posted on what the doc says

True about eliminating potentially life-threatening etiologies but goofed pissing isn't a situation where that applies (unlike head or chest pain where it can have possible fatal consequences).

I would mostly agree about the CT for ass coverage - either that or the ER doc goofed and misread your signs (pupillary response, etc. and was overly cautious). Still, I'd rather the docs cover all the bases than just blow it off if I was in a situation like yours.

If you want to hear a good story about a medical debacle where the docs didn't cover their asses, hit me with a PM.

Well I went to the Doc and he said it looks like kidney stones, I might have passed one out the time it was painful. He has me getting a sonogram to further check. They might even have to go in and break them up.:eek2:

We have a guy here at work that obivously has this issue. It is so weird standing next to him at the urinals why he is trying to squeeze out some yellow rain. He puts his hands on his hips like super man and looks up at the celing and strains really hard and breathes heavy. We call him Super man becuase of the way he has both hands on his hips trying to pee.
