anyone know how to make a silencer for a atv??

They sell em......Damn it! I forget what they're called but I think Jegs sells em.
FMF makes great silencers. I paid $300 for my pipe, silencer and spark arrester for my dirtbike. To answer your question though, I don't think I've ever read or skimmed anything that tells you how to make one on your own. Maybe find a used one on Ebay and just buy repacking material? Have you googled the subject yet?
The ones I can import/export are usually around 500-600$ each (Br Tuote) or 800-1000$ (Gem-Tech). You could buy a fake one: http://www.mfiap.com/airsoft/acce/socom-tact.htm
for around 90$US and then make the honeycomb structure inside by yourself, assuming it's legal in your state. They dont require threaded barrels btw. Of course, you'll probably not be able to muffle more than 20db (Gem-Tech and BR-tuote can muffle as much as 35db).
