Anyone know about becoming an Insurance Adjuster

A friend of mine started out doing that.
She's only worked on commercial claims, no homeowner B.S.
Now her title is "Litigation Supervisor". She makes a decent living for someone with a General Business degree.
I will be looking to be an independant contractor, dont really want a "job" like that.
is that 1099 or W-2 monkey work

but compared to other inbetween jobs (waiting tables/bartending/retail/that sorta thing) seems a better deal.

I have a chance to be my own boss and run my own show here, at least with 1099 stuff so Im going to try that while ive got the chance. plus teh goobermint dont hire white males.

unskilled white males may lose out to unskilled latinos/blacks/indians (casino not jackangel) for gov jobs...but when you have a masters such as you do that's what counts.

you get licensed in texas, then you are good to go. its like $250 for a week course including licensing test

my buddy started doing it independently but ended up taking a job with State Farm because the pay was better and benefits were 20x better and free..
he travels A LOT, throughout the midwest and whatnot.. He loves it (single, younger guy) so can travel easier than a married guy with kids.
You have to go through months of classes I believe, kindof like auctioneer school
He works on residental claims so gets all the BS with that, no one likes you and you will make zero friends because everyone thinks you are screwing them
if you are really wanting to own your own business and have the liquid assets you should look at buying a franchise of something... good way to learn the ropes .. bad because you still got coperate

Make up your mind and do something or make money somehow else just for the mean time. I've been working since I was 14. If I lost my retail job I'd do whatever fuck was out there for money. I don't give a shit. I would taker pleasure in not being the boss and not giving a rats ass about the job.
If they fired me I'd just get some other POS job until I find a worthy position. My supplement could be out in as little as 2 weeks BTW.
