anyone in here have dental implants?

I love models with false teeth.. they the bomb..

crowns count?? I don't think so, you are probably talking about a bridge or something.. ??

gross you have no teeth?

titanium screws in the jaw with a crown on it....I have like 6 crowns....a tooth fractured in two yesterday..it can have a crown but Im betting it will eventually fail

wondering how much this shit will cost

My husband is in the process of getting two implants (the bone atrophied where he had a long term -- done when he was a kid -- one tooth bridge and he lost one of the teeth holding the bridge).

Costs vary depending on a bunch of stuff (the practitioner, if you have insurance coverage, the tooth itself, etc.). Figure approximately $4,000 a tooth and about four to six months total to complete -- it's a two step process, first the metal screw gets embedded in your jaw (they have to cut your gum open then sew it back up). The bone then has to heal completely before they can put the crown portion on.

i only have one cavity and it formed in a soft spot in one of my wisdom teeth...i have almost no experience in dental matters.

however, one of my friends knocked his 2 front teeth out while drunk in mexico (fell face first into a big concrete fountain)...his dentist/oral surgeon cleaned up the damage, drilled holes in his upper jaw, put in the titanium screws and then the bone had to heal around the screws before he could screw on the thingies (technical medical term) that the prosthetic teeth are mounted on...some time passes and it's time to screw on the thingies and, while the doc is screwing on one of the thingies, the screw breaks loose from the bone...my friend described the pain as white-hot and excruciating...the end.

expensive but worth it if you're having problems with your teeth, my Dad has them. Professionally whiten your teeth first if they are going to be visible.

Very interesting, I lost a molar when I smacked my face on someones boot during a night jump..have wanted one for a while..but kids braces, cochlear implant, tuition, etc have always kept me from it.

all branches of the service will do implants ...especially if you lost the tooth during a service connected incident...
I just don't know that I'd want the VA doing it tho..youd probably get teh aids or herp from ineffective autoclave or some shit

I mean..if thats the type of night jump you were referencing

you have a cochlear implant?? my neighbors daughter has one

no, my son does (cochlear)
well, I have full benefits through the VA does offer implants, however I wouldnt allow the one here to touch my mouth. The VA in MD or Virginia yes. I had to fight with them when I broke my back (on my Final jump) to pay for a civilian surgeon who specialized in the procedure I had
