Anyone here passed a kidney stone?

A buddy of mine called me up at about 9:30pm last night while I was at work practically in tears. He was on his front lawn doubled over unable to move wanting me to come get him and take him to the hospital. I bailed out of work and made speed limit signs cry on the way over to his house. By the time I got there, he was a lot better. He thought it was his appendix, so we packed some things up and I followed him down to the emergency room. After a few hours up there, the doctors said they found blood in his urine and confirmed that it was a kidney stone, a large one at that(4mm). I left at about 2am because they still had more tests to do and he was in good hands at that point. He called me up today saying that he still hasn't passed it yet, and I think that it had dropped into or from his gallbladder and still had to go down the urethra(;lakjdl;kasjdlkj). Apparently this whole process hurts worse than childbirth. He's one of the toughest guys I know and this absolutely floored him.

Anyone been through it before?

correction: it passed from his kidney into the bladder, still had the second leg of the journey to go

No, but I've gotten soap up that Urethra Franklin thing,
and it burns like a Monk on a street corner in the 60's..

I hope he's OK.. What a Bud you are..

I have heard that you have never experinced pain until you've had one of 2 things..

1) heart attack
2) kidney stone

I hope to god I never have to find out what either of those is like.. hope your friend gets better soon.

look on the bright side, you may be able to score some of his pain meds :)

According to my RN Mom, Having a Boil Lanced is the Most painfull thing
that can be done to you without killing you..

I saw so many hot nurses while I was up there. While I was leaving, I got lost and walked down the wrong hall into what was apparently the Hot Nurse Department. I was half-asleep and not really paying much attention, when all of a sudden I looked up from my feet(I walk with supreme self-confidence) and there was this beautiful young blonde nurse in some scrubs. After picking my jaw up off the floor and finding the exit, I contemplated applying to medical school when I woke up in the morning. That ended when I got back to my car and saw that my gf had left a nice note under my windshield saying that she had come by to try and see me.

i hear they are ridiculously painful

as in a woman who gave birth said her kidney stone hurt the same.

I swear.. Women in Scrubs should not be attractive logically..
Loose fitting, plain etc

But something about them is H.O.T.
Especially when they are sitting behind the desk lower than you bent over the desk.
U are standing leaning in and that V neckline opens up revealing the goods.

My wife gets a least one a year. And the analogy of childbirth is right on.....she say's the pain is infinite times worse. She's a tough chick too....but kidney stones make her cry like a 2 year old.

If I remember right the whole process can be by passed by breaking the stone up using ultra sound.

it only works some of the time though, depends on the size

and each pulse of the sockwav is apprently the same as someone jamming you with a needle, and they all ned enough shocks, hope to fuck never to get one :D

Y-lifter, scrubs are cool because it hides the womans flaws with the loose clothing but allows you to see just enough to drool at her...how on earth they expect men to cope is beyond me

No, but I have been awakened in the middle of the night by a fierce scream and a hand clutching my hair. My wife never listened to my advice that she needs to drink more and during her last pregnancy she had two bouts of kidney stones.

She still doesn't drink enough...I guess it didn't hurt bad enough.

haha nice analagy.

yeah, your friend is fucked up the penis untill that thing comes out...maybe you should go back to the hopital and hold his hand

Ive also heard that passing a kidney stone is the ultimate in pain. Ive been through childbirth without an epidural and ive also passed gall stones. Gall stones were equal in pain if not more painful. Not sure if gall stones are as painful as kidney stones. Im guessing no.

I drove a coworker to the hospital while he was passing one. I thought he was gonna die in my car. He brought it to work the next day....looks like a big spec of sand.

Yeah but you look at those things under the microscope, and they looked like they are covered in spikes.rather have the torn ligaments I have now they hurt alot less.

one of my greatest fears. just thinking bout it makes me cringe.
is there anything someone can do to avoid getting them?

I passed one and also had knee surgery. Whoever said tearing a ligament is the same as passing a kidney stone has no clue.

I have an extremely high tolerence for pain and this thing knocked me out cold while I was pee'ing. I was at a gas station with a buddy on our way home from somewhere. As usual, at 3am the bathrooms were locked so I went around back. I'm all set bleeding the dragon and WHAM!!! The most unbelievable pain I have ever experienced. Next thing I know, I wake up, I'm looking up at the sky and my pants were soaked. I walk back around and my buddy asks "what the hell happened?" Apparently I looked like I had the shit kicked out of me and he asked if I was jumped? I told him I had no clue what had happened, that I was draining out the meatkabob, felt a terrible pain and next thing you know, I woke up looking like this. He said I was gone for a good 10-15 minutes.

I went to the hosptial the following day and they said I had passed a kidney stone. I personally don't wish that on anyone. The pain is incredible.

whats even worse, is in some cases scartissue can cause your penis hole and urethra to be fused together, making them have to poke a hole at the very base of your penis, so you pie at the base
