Anyone here paint cars?

I just bought some Mar-Hyde 2K Urethane primer with Mar-Hyde Urethane reducer and also the Mar-Hyde 2K Catalyst.

Does anyone know how long this takes to dry when on the car?

oh yeah... the primer is high buff and the reducer is medium.

I mean how long before it can be sanded.. it should not take that long. But I was just wondering. I was not talking about the actual paint Vix.. just the primer.

If I'm NOT mistaken hubby and dad-in law can lay down the primer and paint within one day UNDER the proper weather conditions.

yeah.. sounds about right. I plan on laying the primer on thick. This is a REALLY thick primer that will fill in alot of scratches and imperfections. you sand it.. and then lay another coat down.. so on and so on.
I gotta send you the recent pics of the car... I just have so scan them. It is coming along pretty good.

I am not gonna rush anything on this car. I want it to look really nice.. but most of all, I want it to be safe.
who knows.. we might even run into eachother at one of these races!!! Eitherway.. you will fo sure get to see the pics ASAP!

You will be ready to sand in a couple hours given proper booth temps. Dont expect your primer to fix to many imperfections, make sure all your chips, ect are sanded and blended out, then primer

oh yeah I hear you. The imperfections that this 2K stuff will cover are swirls and deep scuffs from sand paper. all of the chips and whatnot will be gone. This car is going back down to the metal. Booth temp will be 75 degrees.
