I need 4 blues songs that share the same theme. such as like songs about breaking up iwth a girl or something or living in st loius. Cant be super broad like being poor and being in love but can be like being young and poor etc...

Im researching myself but i dont listen to much blues so its pretty tough for me :)

Check out:

Muddy Waters
Mississippi John Hurt
Branford, Wynton, and Ellis Marsellis (mostly jazz but some blues)
BB King

You'll definitely get some good themes by looking into these artists. There will be lots of stuff about Nawlins and Mississippi.

Theme: Rivers are a pain in the ass (Floods)

Kansas Joe McCoy & Memphis Minnie - When the Levee Breaks
Lonnie Johnson - Broken Levee Blues
Charlie Patton - High Water Everywhere
Bessie Smith - Backwater Blues

First thing that came to mind, oddly. You're welcome.

Robert Johnson - Hell hound on my trail
Howlin' Wolf - Evil
Skip James - Devil got my woman
Peetie Wheatstraw - The devil's son-in-law

Interestingly enough, the blue's is historically the "devil's music", but current research into the delta blues suggests it was not so much a christian theme as a hold-over of the worship of the African trickster god Legba by the abducted Africans. They most likely mapped their worship onto the christian devil for convenience and a measure of safety.
