I'm going to be buying one in the near future. Right now i'm looking at the trek 2100 the Felt f60, and the Giant OCR 1.

Buying the Cannondale R1000 next friday. It will probably be this SOBE green color in a triple.

I also considered Specialized who I believe makes some of the nicest bikes around, but the Cannondale has a stiffer bottom bracket. I'm gona ride em both before I buy next week, but the last time I rode a Specialized I recall alot of flex from the BB area.

Got a custom-made BREW about 8 years ago with Shimano Dura-Ace and sewup tires. I used to have a track bike also.

I gots on of those mopeds...gotta kinda lean back a lot though...cause it dont have a front wheel and all...and breaking is a bitch

those are nice bikes too. Like you said, i'm going to ride a couple before i make my final decision.

All 3 are a decent intro road bike. The Giant might be a harder fit as it is more generalized fitting S,M,L,XL is pretty broad. All 3 bikes the components are comparable. The Felt and Giant are aluminum frame the Trek I believe is carbon. So it gets my vote for that. The Felt has carbon seat stay which is better than no carbon. The Giant is all aluminum. All 3 have carbon forks which is pretty much the standard. If I had to choose I would go for the Trek but it comes down to how they feel when you ride it. Best bet is to go to your LBS and test ride all 3. I have a Giant TCR 1 composite and love it.

do you have the 2004 tcr1 ? how much did you end up paying?

I actually had a 2003 TCR but cracked the frame a month ago (random crack never seen anohter frame crack like that) so Giant sent me the 2004 frame and fork and then I had everything swapped over. I bought my bike last June for out the door price was $2200 that was with full Ultegra components. Retail is the same as last year around $2500. This year it comes with FSA carbon cranks which are pretty sweet.

If I bought another bike I'd probably go with titanium, like a Merlin Extralight.

hmm, it's kinda hard to know what exactly they have by just reading their name but i do know a decent amount about them. trek will always have the best price for the product. the 2100 and 2300 are good intermediate bikes. ZR 9000 aluminum is pretty much the best you can get plus carbon fork and rearstay make for a lighter and better power transfering bike. Felt are expensive! out of the three without a doubt the best one but also about 400-500 dollars more. the giant is kind of plain and the geometry of the bike is not my cup of tea. i have ridden a handful of giants and i never like my body position with them.

ok, if you have the money i would go for the Felt, if not go for the trek 2300.

i ride a Madone 5.9

Ok. What do you sell the trek 2300 for?

I'm completly new to this whole road bike thing.

lol, damn i went up like 30k points! thanks bro :)

no pedals.
some shimano ultegra SPD pedals will be great. matches the componentry of the 2300 too. i used them before i got my dura-ace pedals and i really liked them. wide platform, which i liked cuz it felt like i actually had something undernealth me. it was a mental thing for me. lightweight, kickass sealed bearing, you cant go wrong bro.
