What would be a good starter routine and how many x per week. Since I don't get along with squats anymore thought id try them.

Sprint 100m for time x 10. Rest as long as you need to between sets so you can go all out every time. You'll also need somebody to time you on each one. If you don’t have a track just go anywhere and measure off 328 feet with a measuring tape.
I guarantee this is the best hamstring workout you'll ever do. Let me know how it goes.

Doing 2x week, work up to more times as I can. God it sucks, but I seem to enjoy all out short efforts vs. hours on the treadmill.

If you really want to get crazy you can sprint with a rope tied around your waist while dragging a tire. When you run without the tire you will feel like you're flying!
