If you did the at-home exam, do you still have all the work you did? I really don't want to write up integrated-training routines, diets, and explanations for all that shit for 5 people that don't even exist. This shit is going to take another 20 pages of typed up crap (section one is 20 pages long), and then there's a third section of similar size left to go. Granted, I didn't think I'd learn as much as I am but still, this sucks. Alright, I'm done bitching and I'm cool with being a cheater.

i saw the at home course. my ex was working on it. i had to help him. he wasnt too bright. anyhow it didnt look too difficult, just tedious and lengthy

It's not hard, it's just tedious and lengthy, like you said. I don't really feel as though I need more practice in designing routines (translation: I probably do but I'm lazy). Plus, I can't find the answers to questions 38 and 39 in section 1.

No i mean I search ISSA etc and it was website where you learn from home for like $400 is this the same course we are speaking of?

Looking for a trainer eh? I was gonna say something, but didn't wanna hurt your feelings.

better study.....lots of practical stuff,,,,but need to learn anatomy stuff and nutrtional stuff as well

Which course are you taking about?

I took two, a million years ago (80's) but it wasn't all "at home", if I remember there were a few days in the aerobic room of the gym that hosted it and Tom Platts was the instructor.

I might have the text book somewhere in a box in the basement (that's a big might) and it's old now the info is too dated.

I'm not really impressed with most of these programs because it's all written - any idiot that can remember information can pass a test.

I know what you mean. I was told the ISSA one was one of the best to get since it is one of the more intensive and involved ones. I have actually been fairly impressed by it.

I am studying thru them too. i dont have a lot of reading time so its kind of a slow process. I checked into it before enrolling and found out that a lot of the major gyms only accept certificaiton from like 20 different institutions, with ISSA being one of the top ones. The book is killing me though, its not overly difficult, but shit its huge.

Not sure if this is what you were talking about...I took the test awhile ago...

38. What are the 8 technologies at your disposal in training your clients or athletes?
The eight technologies at my disposal when training a client or athlete are:1)weight training.2) Special Forms of Resistance Training.3)Psychological Techniques.4)Therapeutic Modalities.5)Medical Support.6)Biomechanics.7)Dietary Manipulation.8)Nutritional Supplementation.

39. List 5 different ways you can increase the intensity of a workout.
Five different ways to increase the intensity of a workout are:1) Amplification of mental effort – getting “psyched”.2)Increasing the speed of movement.3)Increasing the number of training sessions per day.4) Increasing the total number of exercises or body parts trained at one session.5)Increasing the amount of work done at the anaerobic threshold (maximum pain tolerance.

Hope this helps....

I've been planning on doing ISSA, but I've been having trouble nailing down a ballpark est. on what kind of pay this cert would help me get. Actually, I do have a ballpark: Very little to a whole lot. Anybody got reliable info on AVERAGE salary range? Do additional certs within ISSA help more than getting one from ISSA and one from another agency???

I did the at home, got half way through and said screw it to do the training seminar/take the exam. Much less tedious.

which one hahnb?

ACSM or NSCA, both are extremely hard. I have the study material for the ACSM and I'm going to send it back because it's really not worth the effort unless you plan on making it your career.
