Anyone have/use an induction cooktop?

Bought a new place and will be redoing the kitchen. I cook a lot and usually prefer gas but we'd like to put a cooktop on the kitchen island/breakfast bar, but my wife doesnt like the idea of the hot surfaces potentially being able to burn the kids (they're 3 and 1 and climb on everything). I mentioned induction and she liked the idea.

I've read all about it, how it works, pros and cons, etc. Just wondering if any of you cooks out there who typically prefer gas have tried one?

Never used one, but I do know this: they require specific cookware, so if you have a lot of money invested into the cookware you have now and it's not compatible...reconsider.
