i might have remote offices i travel to, and i'd like one phone number staying w/me. along with unlimited calling throughout the day. great for small biz owners.
I use PingTone Communications for VoIP. If you're looking for a phone just like Skype but better, they also have a softphone that works on your laptop. Otherwise, I just use a Cisco phone when I work from home.
I just bought a Linksys CIT400 Skype phone for my roommate because cell coverage here is terrible. It's a cordless land line phone that also lets you make calls using Skype without being near a computer. The phone has the Skype software built in. I'm testing it tonight and it sounds great on my end; a little muffled according to the other caller.
Unlimited in/out nationwide calling and a real phone number to dial in for $7.50/month. I still use ATT Callvantage but this was cheaper than adding a second line for her.
