Anyone have a foreign object embedded in their body?

...And no I'm not talking about your grandpa or strange uncle. Although that vould be very intervesting.

I know a few people that still have a piece of lead, from a pencil, somewhere in their body.
I have a piece of lead in my leg from 1978 and a sliver of glass in my hand from 1982.
I have a special attachment to sentimental things.
The doc wouldn't or couldn't take them out. I still sometimes feel the glass when I grab something just right.

What is it? How did it get there? Why haven't you had it taken out?

I have lead in my palm. I've had it since I was in 2nd grade. I accidentally stabbed myself in the palm with my pencil.

I got a piece of glass in the bottom of my foot from last Saturday or Sunday. It hurts when I walk barefoot.

My brother and dad both have some shotgun pellets.. hunting accident.

My sister says she was the one that poked me with the pencil while in a fight. I don't remeber that but I the lead is still there.
This reminds me of a story I read about the other day...

Doctors is the southern indian state of Kerala were perplexed when a 64-year-old woman came to the hospital complaining of irritation in her eye. When doctors took a closer look, they saw something moving! Turns out she had two worms in her right eyeball. The filarial worms had made their way to the lymphatic vessels and were about to migrate to other parts of her body. Had the worms gone deeper, she would have lost her eyesight. Doctors speculate the larvae might have entered her bloodstream through mosquitos and had reached her eye through the blood vessels.

My older brother accidentally shot me with a 16ga shotty when I was 8. The side of my left hand between the pinky and wrist had to be rebuilt, so I've got some pins and such in there. Also the side of my hand has a thick circular scar without much sensation.

Broken ankle at age 14 which the doc insisted on fixing with pins and a plate. In retrospect mom really he was bilking the insurance company since the break wasnt that serious.
