That's true. I went to Western Michigan. That place was wild. Great party school. And I got a pretty good education in the end.
 
My girlie is from Canton, Mi. Been to the "D" a lot. Powerhouse Gym in Canton/Lifetime Fitness in Canton and Novi. There's a Powerhouse East of Canton a coupla miles. Been there too.
 
Anyone from Detroit been to Richmond, Virginia? I think the two are in a close race for being the worst city.
 
Born in Detroit and all I can say that true happiness is Detroit in the rearview mirror
 
northern michigan here, went to school at MSU
seems like everyone here hates michigan, fuck I kinda of like it.
water, woods, sheetloads of land...then again fuck detroit and the tri-cities, the suck big time. I live close to flint and saginaw for a while, fuck that whole part of the state. but upstate is the shiznitt

Agreed, a reason I love areas of Wisconsin. I would never want to live in a huge city for very long unless I was living my job and in a lab like PPPL 23/6.

From my hometown I can drive ten minutes to Lake Michigan and wander some untouched areas of nature, or drive 20 minutes to Milwaukee. Kinda nice.

And Indiana, of course, just sucks.

Yep, i dig wisconsin, the whole state. though it doesn't get the snow michigan does, the only drawback of the great state...I've done a bit of boozing in northern wisconsin, around eagle and florence...lol their is a bit of trouble to be had in those parts...my family is from across the border in crystal falls

lets be clear here, I was born and have family in detroit, but its a failed community moreso that Iraq.
Upstate, wonders to be had, but economically, you arent going to get rich there or achieve major aspirations on life professionally. I love the area, it was the most innocent time and educational time of my life, I miss the simpleness, but... no economical benefit to raising a family there, make the money first, then go back

michigan used to be a job destination for peeps, sad to see it slipping.
though gm still has clout, the lansing factories seem to be doing well...I have a few engineer buddies who work there. and quite a few other compaines home base is in michigan. little ceasers, dominoes, kmart, meijer. not to mention the auto biz...still a player, though having a rough season

Those are pay the bills paycheck to paycheck jobs. At least in the west, those jobs are six months on the job training max here and the salary would suck. Im talking professional jobs where they just dont compensate enough to attract quality people, hence the area suffers from a lack of thought. I mean, Michigan is a democratic state b/c of Detroit unionists. Its destroyed its own economy through taxation and drove the motor manufacturers away. Its sad, a great state lost to idiotic communistists located in one city yet affecting all of that land> PLEASE, MICHIGAN, JUST GIVE DETROIT TO WINDSOR, fuck write that shit off

Look, if they had you and I in charge of urban renewal and commerce in Northern Michigan, we had have twenty times the thought capacity of these old ladies that cant operate a mouse effectively determining decisions on how to run the state. Pathetic.

Did you ever hear of the Hidelburg project in detroit? In the late 80's and early 90's a detroit artist turned a few d-town city blocks into a fucking cool real life art project, decorating the abandeod (sp) houses with various things. strange how their is block after block of 'hoods with nobody living there, just left...anyway it was sick, i took a cruise and checked it out thourghly, even went on foot for a few hundred feet...lol. pretty morbid.
The UP is the last frontier
