I should find out tomorrow if I have it. My lymph node is swollen like a mofo and there's a raw patch in my throat with a white cap on it. I don't feel like I have mono though. I heard it sucks.
Anyone ever have mono?

Yes I had mono in college/ I was sick for 2 or 3 weeks just feeling miserable. achey all over and swollen neck. From what I understand I had a mild case though because I didnt have to be hospitalized and no spleen/pancreas damage.

nope, i don't think so atleast.
Damn it sounds bad if it can damage your organs. She gave me some Amoxil and said that should take care of what I have but they gave me a mono test to make sure.

I got it in the 9th grade and gave it to 3 of my sisters friends they were all sick at the same time

I got it in High School, and it was horrible - but only lasted a couple of weeks.

Mono is caused by the Ebstein Barr VIRUS...... (emphasis on the virus part incase you missed it)
So if mono IS what you have, save your penicillin, it's useless.
But, from what your throat looks like, it sounds more like u have strep. In which case, antibiotics (not nec. pen.) would be appropriate.

I got the pen for bacterial infection. Tested neg for strep. Gotta rule out mono yet.

Hmmmm, well best of luck that it aint mono. Guess it would be an excuse to stay home and play video games!

Mono test came back neg! Apparently it's just a throat infection from something or other. They said an irritated wisdom tooth could do it. I hope I don't have to get them pulled. They aren't bothering me that much. They are shifting my teeth a little but I suppose if a retainer doesn't keep them in place I'll have to get them pulled eventually.
