no flames bro.they all go down the same.do a test with a friend.have him/her give you randum vodka and see if you can tell wich one is the best.you will be srpized.eat big said:Thank you Professor. I'm pretty sure it's also about how they go down.

thank you bro.but realy if he wants to wast his mony cool with me.vodka is vodka unless the are adding something difrant to alter the tast, but there not.they are just puting it in a fancy botlleBrothaBill said:If you havent figured out, I can put the same water from the same source into different containers and have people rate the taste, Perception is what drives the rating. What he is saying is that organic chemically speaking vodka has very little congeners during the process as oposed to whiskey or gin.
So, you get an ethanol molecule such as vodka. Tastes the same when you use the same Identical shotglass.
You need to go to college man and learn this shit, its like basic 101 crap
I beg to differ Needto ... for the vast majority of the population, people who drink just once or twice a month, sure, but ... well, let's say I have a little more experience than I like to admit to and leave it there, okay?needtogetas said:not trying to flam anny one but is anny one here aware of the fact that vodka has no tast.u mass did a studdy were the put randum vodka in a glass and no one could tell the difrance.realy people I am an alchole expert and if I gave you smernoff vodka in youre drick as aposed to gray goose you wouldent have a clue.in fact a lot of bars do tis to make more money from you.

I've requested specific tequilas in margueritas and they subbed the cheap shit and I knew it. But I've got a damned sensitive palate.
But straight up, room temperature, yeah, I can identify several different vodka's by taste and aroma (mixed, no), but I don't drink expensive liquor in a mixed drink, silly ass waste of money.
I can recognize every tequila I've ever had by taste and smell, and I can tell the difference between a marguerita that was made with Cuervo and one made with Sauza.
tequila is difrant girl.vodka is not.vodka is pure alchole with nothing added.tastless there is only one way to make it.there is no difrance from one to the next.musclemom said:I beg to differ Needto ... for the vast majority of the population, people who drink just once or twice a month, sure, but ... well, let's say I have a little more experience than I like to admit to and leave it there, okay?![]()

studes have bin don with people who have a sertan brand of voka they just love.said the same thing you did.I can tell.lol they couldent tell for shit.most of them liked the cheap shit more.vodka is pure alchole with no flaver added.ther is only one way to make it.they can advertize all they want its all made the same way with the same shit in it.musclemom said:I beg to differ Needto ... for the vast majority of the population, people who drink just once or twice a month, sure, but ... well, let's say I have a little more experience than I like to admit to and leave it there, okay?![]()

like I said vodka is vodka,no difrance.lots of people think they know but all have bin proven wrong in a test.how can you tell the difrance from alcohol and alcohol.BrothaBill said:Google organic chemisty and vodka, then google congeners, then understand that tequila does not equal vodka.
Vodka is nearly straight ethanol which is odorless and tasteless. Tequila, Whiskey and others have congeners in them that add flavor but also are what add alot of the hangover.
Comparing Vodka is not like comparing Whiskey aged in different oak barrels from different forests.
Vodka is near straight alcohol, remember MASH and that still, its a different way to extract pure alcohol. There is no flavoring except what is added.
Now, if you want to illegal making your own ethanol moonshine, vodka whatever.
You can buy JackDaniels, Southern Comfort etc... flavorings and no will know the difference.
People will say they can tell but they are always proven wrong scientifically.
Vodka is vodka, makes very little difference where it comes from unless they add flavorings. Its one of the distillation differences that only a certain molecule has that boiling point. Heat it to that temperature, only the ethanol molecule goes into the still and virtually everything that comes out is pure alcohol, vodka

I know that tequila does not equal vodka and vice versa.BrothaBill said:Google organic chemisty and vodka, then google congeners, then understand that tequila does not equal vodka.

. There's more to the vodka than just the distillation process. lmao I gess they just tech us this shit when we are born.my mom would put jin on my gums to stop me from cring when I was young.my mom is a scot but I love her just the same.wish they were both Irish.lol I have to here them argue all the time.BrothaBill said:that is true, Vodka should be almost pure ethanol (the alcohol we drink) and water, that is what it is, no amount of packaging will change the molecular shape of ethanol nor the molecular shape of the water.
I could have a Polish guy piss in it and call it Polish vodka but that really wouldnt be completely vodka now would it?
How come only us Irish guys know this?

I still remember that burning feeling in my chest, when I drank some as a child.
no one will ever get it.they think they know.bb 95% of vodka on the markit today is mad with what.BrothaBill said:Thats everclear lol. Thats distilled twice so it is nearly PURE ethanol or 95% alcohol. I cant buy that around here but if we road trip to Montana we can hahaha.
The reason why it hurts so much is that it is actually damaging your esophagus. Its a caustic substance, a solvent.
The grain alcohol is like about 2.3 times stronger than your average straight shot. 190 proof or 95% pure alcohol.
I had it once as a straight shot on a new years party long time back. I coughed and burned my throat the whole night, that about the only thing I can remember from that night besides the phrase "you make me want to smoke three cigarettes"
So, grain alcohol in answer to your query is most like distilled to the point that there is less water or virtually none at all, think of condensed soup. And so it will burn your mouth the higher the percentage of alcohol it is.
Actually destroys cells along the path

But I'm telling you, Bill, I can tell the difference between rain, smirnoff, and Luksusowa by taste and smell because I've done it and be damned your science. There's more to the vodka than just the distillation process.
Are you telling me you taste absolutely NOTHING when you drink vodka???
I can't have vodkas made with wheat or other grains, just potato or corn, I'm a sensitive celiac.
Well, put it this way, I can tell the difference between filtered tap water a bottle of spring water or reverse osmosis filtered water, or well water, by taste, swear to God. Vodkas are nothing.BrothaBill said:Well Im not a huge taste tester of different vodkas, I only drank vodka as my choice of beverage to limit or prevent a hangover. But I have had my share of tequila in Mexico and my share of whiskeys. And I have definitely had my share of vodka.
And no, I cannot taste a difference in vodkas and I have conducted mock studies to do that b/c we are nerds.
The best vodka though was Smirnoff twister to me which was not a true vodka. It was 35% alcohol, as you approach over 40 and to 50% alcohol, the body's gag reflex grows so that 40% alcohol is sold normally as such, 50% makes most straight shotters gag.
But the 35% with the orange or raspberry taste and then chase it immediately. I used to sit on my deck in San Luis Obispo over the river and cook my chicken on the BBQ and enjoy the view. It was like a beverage.
Nowadays, I try and limit the intake, but to me and my past experience, vodka is vodka now matter what shape the bottle comes in. If it tastes different then I dont want to know who alleviated into the mixture to make it taste different
