If anyone missed the original post, a friend of mine got a postcard from the US Postal Inspector saying "Please call Inspector so and so concerning a package shipped from California."
Ok, my friend called the postal inspector. I figured this was better than them coming to his house and saying "we asked you to call and you never did so here we are."
My friend called and acted stupid (well its debatable whether he was actually "acting") and said that he never ordered anything from California and that he was concerned about what the package could be.
The postal inspector said that he had reason to believe the box contained steroids. My friend was bewildered. He doesnt do steroids. The inspector asked if he could open the package or does he have to wait for a search warrant. My friend told him to go ahead and open it, he has no idea what this is all about and wants to help in anyway he can. He does know some people who got in trouble and dont like him and maybe they were trying to set him up. He cant think of any other reason that steroids would be being sent to his house. The postmaster checked his records and said that a number of things were shipped to his house from that address in the past months addressed to someone else and asked what that was about. My friend didnt know. He had a roommate, but he moved. My friend basically asked for the inspectors help in clearing this up and the inspector said that if its what he thinks it is, steroids, then its not that big of a deal, he can confiscate the goods and that will be the end of it. BUT, if it is something else, like ECSTASY or KETAMINE, then he is going to have to pursue the matter a little further.
My friend is crossing his fingers that it is steroids and not ecstasy or ketamine.
Now this reminds me of the other guy who got busted and the Postal Inspector told him someone else opened his package. What made him suspect that the package contained steroids?? I dont get it. Are Postal Inpectors circumventing the Right to Privacy laws and making up reasons to confiscate our packages? Are they flat out lying? Fishy! Heres the other thread if ya missed that one:
