Have any of you been to Koh Samui? By the looks of it I may not come back. I know they have drilling in Thailand somewhere.

Just fine. Wish I didn't have to work for a living. I'm afraid that my injuries are too severe to do that kind of work. I can workout under contolled conditions, but sudden unexpected movements would aggravate my injuries. Primarily my pec injury.

Well, it's probably a good time for you to check it out now that many five star resorts & hotels have special rate to promote and boost tourism within the affected area from the tsunami.

I've never been to Koh Samui. I've been to Phuket a few times though (not far from there).

Rocky resort is on Lamai beach down from the main tourist trap at Chaweng. Lamai is a lot cleaner and quieter than Chaweng but the coral of the coast is still dead from the impact of tourism. Samui is OK (i don't like it) but if you really want to go somewhere fantastic go to the Similans. Phuket and all the islands on that side are empty of tourists still following the tsunami even though it's all been completely cleaned up. I'd imagine you'd be able to get a good deal at any of the hotels and resorts.
