Anyone else here a libertarian at EF?

I used to be.

But then I realized that if EVERYONE was a libertarian, this country would really suck.

Libertarian philsophy works really well when people are motivated, educated, have access to education and personal development.

Unfortunately we do not all have equal access to opportunity, despite our best efforts to do so.

I am in therory....but register republican to vote in the primaries...
That pretty much sums me up as well. I hate to just give away my vote when election time comes around.

I believe that an adult in this country ought to be allowed to do pretty much what ever they want to do (as long as they're not infringing on someone else's right to privacy, etc.) but if you come to my house and try to steal my shit to support your habit, I'll blow your goddamn brains out. . .yeah. . .I guess I am a Libertarian. :)

I lean that way but I'm not a hardcore Libertarian, actually tested as Libertarian based on a political quiz, I still think there is a place for government providing basic services.

conan the librarian?

I'm very close to a libertarian but normally vote republican.

A libertarian in the US should vote either libertarian or republican.

republicans are more libertarian on money,
democrats are more libertarian on personal morals.

Money is the most important thing.

I think people should vote for smaller parties more though.

I dont understand either why they dont have senators and such (or do they)

I think the main thing is Democrats=larger goverment,Republicans= smaller goverment...I like the idea of smaller goverment, more freedom and less social programs.......the Democrates like to ponticate about the haves & the have not's.....but in reality these translate to the will & will not's.......{work and support themselves} for the mentally challenged.

Thne Republicans aren't about smaller government, nothing the Republicans do actually reduces the size of government. I vote Republican in National elections because they will increase the size of government at a slower rate than Democrats. I am a Fiscal Libertarian, I lean a lot closer to Smith than that communist Keynes.

The recreational drug issue is what throws the Libertarian party outside the mainstream.
