Anyone else have this problem while aspirating?

Right glute is never a problem - I mean never once have I pulled blood back into the syringe. Yet with the damn left one it happens about every 3 out of 5 times!

If it's a decent amount and it's that super dark red color then sure I'll pull out, change pins and go again. But often it's just a thin tendril that snakes itself in, in which case these days I just say fuck it and shoot away.

Haven't had any problems thus far but am interested if this is a common phenomenon. Also, if there are any medically trained bros out there, am I taking unnecessary risks by doing this?

Ive only drawn blood once, it was my "virgin" shot; it was in my glute, and interestingly enough it was the only time i injected while sitting down.....

I usually bleed al ittle bit when I inject but I don't think I've ever injected INTO the vein.

Most people bleed after a shot, thats normal. You might want to try changing your location of the shots if you keept drawing blood. Move over/up/down a little bit and maybe that will help. I have never drawn up blood, but I always use 1.5"s so I go through veins sometimes.

sometimes when you inject you create scar tissue. when you inject into that scar tissue sometimes alittle blood come up into the needle when you aspirate. its probably not a vein if only a little blood comes up but its not a chance that you should take, its simply not worth it.

Supposing you take a razor blade and make a tiny superficial cut in your glute. It's going to bleed right? Well of course it is - and that's an incision a fraction of an inch deep right on the skin surface. Does that mean you've slashed a vein? I doubt it.

So, if it's a scientific fact that there are no major arteries or veins in the upper outer glute, and given you're shooting correctly and in the right zone, then what's the drama with a touch of blood in the tip of the barrell?

if you hit a vein you will know... it won't be a lil bit of blood it will fill the syringe

whenever you cut yourself, scrape, etc, you ripping capillaries (sp?) whish are one cell thick blood vessels, not veins

I haven't hit my glutes since I went to spot injections.com. Check it out, they give very good info and almost every alternative to hitting glutes.
