anyone do any cross-training here?

ok, i have been done with the whole 'being big' thing for awhile, because all the extra weight just does not help me, whatsoever, with what i am trying to do.

so, i have been lifting more for strength, mixing in plyometric work, and lots of running. however, i have been so used to bodybuilding/powerlifting, that it still feels awkward when i start doing any 'different' kind of workouts.

does anyone here have any real experience with serious cross training, not just lifting and doing some cardio here and there?
 
I used to race bikes; still get out for a 20-40 miler every now and then. I have dreams of doing an Olympic distance triathlon some day.

I find that strongman type training is an excellent way to cross-train. You get your strength training that comes from the lifts, but you also get the cardio benefits from farmer's walks, and sled dragging. :supercool
