Perhaps you didn't see my earlier reply. Scroll up. Read the second line.

Well that attitude won't get you very far.

I did it a little for a couple of years in college. Just go to a comedy club and show them what you got. All you need to do is get a 10 minute act together because you won't get anymore stage time then that. I no longer do it because I kinda got tired of dealing with it but it was cool. I decided I wanted to worked behind the scenes in television but I'm no longer doing that either.

I'd just look for club in your area with an open mic night. If there aren't any go a few towns over if you have to.

From Zero... PM me and I can give you more info.

Nathan has it right... learn to be funny. Comedy is a skill... and you build muscles at it by doing it. All the good stand up comics get started the same way... they go to club after dirty little hole in the wall nowhere club... hitting the crowd with their best material... practicing their delivery... learning timing... and the longer they do it the better they get.

I've been friends over the years with many successful stand up comics. Their stories are ALL the same... they just kept going to little clubs and working their way up the ladder.

It's a little known secret... but ANYBODY and I mean anybody can make $500 a week as a stand up comic on the circuit... even if they totally suck. The demand is that high.

Trivia - when I first met Ellen Degeneres I said, "She's really sweet, but she just isn't going to make it."

When I first saw her routine (which was after she had gotten some success but way before her series) I thought she was one of the few funny female comics I had seen.

Now she sucks.
