anybody watching "the colony" on discHD?

I'm zealously anti reality tv.......in fact I twitch at the mention of it. But a friend of mine showed me the pilot episode and I have to say it's pretty damn good. I've seen now all the episodes and there's no "voting off" or any of that kind of cliquing off bullshit cause there's no monetary prize at the end of the show. From what they say, it's a volunteer basis experiment. That wood gasifier they built to generate fuel for their generator was pretty fucking cool. Good show....what reality TV should be. It's like survivor + junkyard wars.....only without the annoying survivor bullshit of voting people off the show.

The premise is that these people are survivors in L.A of some sort of apocalyptic catastrophe. They dropped these people in what looks like an abandoned cordoned off warehouse district. They basically let them find the factory that they were going to set up in. Definitely watch it in sequence cause you'll be like "wtf, they have powertools?". Watch how they figured out to generate electricity. They did it from just what you would normally find in a typical factory. Than they found solar panels like what you would find from the city lining railways to power switching lights or whatnot. The episode where they fabricated the fucking solar stand that tracks the fucking sun, wow.....just wow. Watch how they did.

I'm going to remember that wood gasifier concept.....fucking so easy and it'll generate a fuel that you can pipe through a hose near the carburetor of a small engine like a lawnmower and it'll spark it.
