anybody ever remove candle wax from berber carpet

I've tried ice and the iron/cloth deal and have been SOL. The ferrets knocked a candle into the carpet a while back. I think I've seen some sort of wax remover for carpet somewhere but I have no idea whether or not it works.

heat wax with hair dryer, remove by patting up liquid wax.

After calling a female friend, she says that the best way is to buy a yard of the same carpet, cut the spoiled area out and replace it with a small cut-out from the yard.

Just had a whole house full of light berber installed and so far have had professional carpet cleaners here 3 times as I have not been able to get any type of stain out of it. For candle wax I would call Service Master and let them do it. BTW Flexed1 - what are you doing cleaning carpet anyway, aren't you supposed to be taking it easy???????

You are right, I don't think it can be cut and spliced. Damn, red huh. I wouldn't touch it anymore as you may set the stain and make it permanent - call in the pros hun. Also put a nice throw rug over it so you don't obsess about it until they get there.

another solution is to get several more candles like the one you had an wax the entire carpet. that way no one particular spot will stand out.
if anyone asks about this new interior design technique, just question their taste and get all huffy.

Why are you burning so many candles?

After you've picked off as much as you can, heat your iron to the highest steam setting. Place a clean cloth over the candle wax and quickly steam iron over the cloth. Pick up the cloth, and put a clean area of the cloth over the wax, then quickly iron again. Keep repeating the ironing over clean areas of the cloth until all the wax has been absorbed. Do not keep the iron on the carpet too long so as not to burn the fibers.
