Any wakeboarders here?

I'm in the market for a new board and I need help picking one out. It's a long shot but I'd love if anyone could help...

Stuck between 2 right now: the '08 Hyperlite Apex 142 and the '08 Hyperlite Premier 141.

As far as weight I'm 6'1 185 and skill level I'm a beginner just done perfecting edging and whatnot. I'd like a board with pretty good grip to the water and a good pop over the wake because I've noticed I feel unbalanced and "wobbly" at times, but I'm sure part of that is because I'm new.

Between these two, which do you guys recommend? If its a push, I'd have to say I like the looks of the Apex better.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I wakeboard a few times a year but I just use my friend's gear. I feel wobly going over the wake sometimes too.

If you go again try letting go of the handle with your back hand and hold it with your leading hand only. Strangely enough its helped me dramatically with "wobbliness." I guess holding the bar with two hands causes your hips to twist and lose balance

yeah that is exactly my problem. Always tring to keep my hips square. I feel so much more secure with two hands on the bar though!

Yep thats exactly how I felt then I just said the hell with it and let go. Turns out your riding feels 100% more smooth because your hips are aligned with your board (and not twisted toward the boat/current)

I always release my back hand now and picture myself touching the water behind me. It'll subconsciously cause you to lean back as well creating more tension on the rope.
