he says they are steroids. i looked at them very quickly and they are big, white looking pills and the label says flagyl or flagysl or something along those lines. does anyone know what they are and if they are useful for humans.

P.S. my dog has gotten a little bit bigger and they only give her a quarter of the pill

What is the dog taking them for? My guess is they are corticosteroids, totally differnt than AAS.

Corticosteroids are usually used for inflamation or skin conditions such as dermatitis(usually in a cream then however). I dont think they would use AAS for bowel problems, but perhaps corticosteroids.

Flagyl is an antibiotic ~ it used to be very popular to treat sexually transmitted diseases. Your dog may getting bigger because she is getting over her bowel problem and able to hold weight now :o) Don't take it, dude.....(oh, and don't mix it with alcohol or you'd be sick as a DOG, no pun intended). Drug was also given to alcoholics to make them sick when they drank so they'd quit :o))))

Flagyl oral

Active Ingredients: Metronidazole Oral
Representative Brand Names: Flagyl Oral

Metronidazole eliminates bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections of the reproductive system, gastrointestinal tract, skin, vagina, and other areas of the body. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
