I am an example for my daughter. Shit I thought I knew it all. When she is old enough to understand sex and the consequences of it, I hope she looks at me and sees all the struggles I went through being a young single mother.

But you learned and got your act together. I made lots of mistakes... screwed up big time and had to work very hard to fix my life but some things are out of reach because of it. That's a big part of the way I am now.... it's like the biggest preacher against drinking is a reformed drunk. I don't want my kids to have to go through all that.

In high school, a girl had the strictest religious upbringing imaginable. Church three times a week and her parents screened everything she was allowed to watch. She sneaked out of the house to have sex and she was pregnant by seventeen.

honestly? i treat their mom with the utmost respect at all times. . .their standards will be so high, i don't think i'll have to worry about it for a while.

I think you really really need to teach your children the values you would like for them to have under the age of 10.

after that, if you force them to be who they are not, or even who they are, they will go in the opposite direction. Rebel. and look what happens?

Her parents should have trusted that they raised her well enough to allow her to watch what she liked, and let her choose how many times she would attend church , if at all.
