Any of you have hunting dogs?

What breed do you have? I inhereited a good breed for hunting and am thinking about training him for next bird season. He is just over a year old now so I should probably start asap.
Be a good bonding thing for the dog and I and keep me busier.

You doing brush birds like grouse and pheasant? Get an English Springer Spaniel. They are an attractive house pet as well as a good flusher.

I have a weimer now, but he is just a year old. All he wants to do is play fetch and I would love to have a good bird dog so I am going to start training him now.
Yes Grouse and Pheasant and Chukar and Duck. The ex said he hated water but the little bastard swims like a fish for me and tries to break into the shower every day. I think I am just up for some more difficult training but I will get him there.

No I take both my dogs to the range. They are used to it.

My Uncle uses Irish Setters and Ill tell you , they are high strung dogs....

My Weimer is pretty hyper, high strung. I think it would be good for him and me. Need to burn off some of that energy.
