Fennel tea can be good too. There's a lot of herbs that can help postpartum. Literally search on herbs postpartum. You don't want to try a bunch at once, you take one thing as directed for at least two or three days before trying another.

A good B complex can help with water retension.

I piled on water after I gave birth, too, never did figure out why. I was holding over 20 lbs. of water, and it sucked. It cleared out in about 2 weeks.

Your body will regulate itself. Honestly, I wouldn't go crazy trying to find *the right* supp to speed the process. You already have enough on your plate with adjusting to your life as a mother. And trust me when I tell you that just as you get used to his body rythms (how much he cries/sleeps/etc) he will change that shit up on you!

I know it feels like the suck, but I promise you, it won't last forever.

Oh and CindyLou burning 500 extra calories a day is THE LAST reason to nurse as you will also be eating more so that your body can lactate properly.

The benefits of nursing your baby IMHO are INVALUABLE - bonding, PERFECT nutrition for you baby, the immune system strengthening for the baby. I can't imagine why ANYONE would choose bottle feeding over nursing unless it was truly a dire situation.

HR - contact your doctor before you begin ANY natural diuretic.

While coffee is obviously a bad choice in this case - new research has shown that caffeine is actually very beneficial in lower to moderate dosings.

Thank GOD! Right on the money! K!.....

My legs and feet and stomach are still all swollen with tons of water. Is there any natural, safe way to get rid of it besides just drinking tons of water? I already know to drink lots of water.

Thanks for the advice, you all. The doc did say that the water would start to clear in two weeks. I was pretty badly bloated before having the baby. The doctor said that there is some sort of fluid shift from the surgery that would make it even worse for a couple of weeks. I had to wear those inflating boot thingies when I was in the hospital to try to make the swelling go down...lol.
