I was at a prayer breakfast a month ago, and the speaker was telling us how he used to be a card hustler, run decks like a pro, and make buckoo cash before he got saved.

well, that really inspired me...to learn how to run cards.

i picked up all sorts of instructional videos on the net, and some of this shit is simply amazing. mixing sleight of hand with some mathematics is some pretty cool shit.

it is amazing how people can cheat at cards....and you would NEVER know unless you knew how it was done.

and, no, i don't know how to be an operator, but I know that they do amazing things. To me, I just try to get better at beating people, straight up.

i used to do magic tricks all the time as a kid. i had a shit load of them magic encyclopedias, lessons etc. needless to say i only remember 1 or 2 i can do on the spot. 1 good bar trick is always good to know, use it anytime/anyplace.

The only trick I know is this: take an ordinary drinking straw and run a string through it. Then fold the straw in half. Hold the straw in your fist, with the folded end of the straw by your thumb and index finger side of your fist, and the two ends of the straw with strings hanging out by your pinky side of your fist. Have someone insert a knife or scissor into the straw fold and cut the straw in half. Then pull out the string, and the string will NOT be cut!!

How to do this: the trick is to discreetly cut a 1 to 1 1/2 inch slit along the middle of the straw, right where your going to fold it. When you fold the straw, make sure the slit is on the inside of the fold. Once you have folded the straw with the string in it, pull down on both sides of the string, but don't make it obvious. The string will travel into the slit, instead of being in the fold. So when the fold is cut, the string will stay uncut. After the cut is made, pull on the string as you still hold onto the folded straw in your fist, don't unfold it first.
