What does it take to get in the car salesman business?, what kind of attributes do you need?, how do I get started, and anyone have any interview tips for me. Thanks, I'm just a college student with a friendly attitude and I want to make some good $$$. Thanks in advance.

First and most important, you want to sell yourself at any interview you go on. Confidence is the key. Don't get cocky, but make sure come off as confident!!! You want the interviewer to remember that you have the attitude that you can sell anything to anyone, and do it in a professional manner. I like to use this line, "I can sell a woman in white gloves a ketchup popsical"!!!

Once hired, product knowledge is most important. Usually customers that come into a dealership have researched the shit out of a certain car. IF they ask you something you don't know about a certain car, never bullshit them as far as product knowledge goes, just tell them flat out the you don't know off hand but you will have the correct answer for them before they leave, that's where you earn there trust. Another main point to focus on is that the cheapest price isn't always the best price, you want them to see value, not just the cheapest price!!!

Always always always ask alot of questions, figure out what they definately need as far as options, and then what they want. (Needs assessment) Good Luck!!!
