Any C Programmers out there?

Im learning basic C at University. Need some help writing 3 very basic programmes for anyone who has learnt C before. I am very behind with my work & would appreciate any help.

Hey, whats up. So how basic are they? I took C++ for 2 years about 6 years ago and took a little refresher course about a year ago, but im not a master. I know a little, but im getting more into PERL. If I cant figure it out, I can probably find a friend that can...

wrong thread, but i would recommend searching the web for developer sites. BTW, why are you taking C? go for JAVA!
 
java sucks bawlz.... c/c++ blow them out of the water in terms of power and felxibility... Java is easier, yes... but c++ rules...

I'll agree with you on one thing. JAVA2 has terrible graphics. It's going to kill the language.

yeah, i hear about people coding graphics engine's in java and i just dont understand the... games with the most fluid graphics are programmed in C/C++ and assembly (Quake III arena for example)...

XML ??? For game programming? pffff... *waves hand at screen* or other stuff ... I understand XML for other areas, but not game programming...

Why aren't you taking C++ instead, C is somewhat dated. They're pretty similar though, I believe all C is compatible with C++ compilers.
 
I am simply amazed how many juiced up programmers there are here. I thought I was the only one. Going by classes and jobs I was under the impression the only thing heavy programmers picked up were programming books. This is so cool :)

Like i said before. C/C++ is garbage as is VB. Java is being used now because most new applications are web based and Java is the obvious choice since its platform independent. I bet this Discussion Board appllication was made in Java.

You obviously know nothing in the areana of computer science and programming theory. Java is a great edjucational language because its obvious OO structure, but sux ass because its just too slow. No one wants an interpreted language simply for that fact.

Applications you run are most likely Win32 based written using C++. Almost 95% of IBM compatible applications are written in C++.

MS has recently started the .NET Framework which is identical to Java's features but runs faster and has MS support. Sorry but Sun can't keep up with MS.

And this discussion board is written in php, a server-side, crossplatofrm HTML embedded scripting language. The way you can tell its written in php is cause the extention of the link is .php. Anyways, most discussion boards are php based. Java would be too slow. The way you tell an App, ActiveX control, or web applet is written in Java is because it takes forever to load

Give me your input on Java and programming languages 5 years from now when you get some real industry experience and not something your read on some webpage at your university.

Damn Microsloth Products.

I have not used C# but if its a microsoft product you can bet its not supported by any other platform. Everything is going to be copywrighted.

And I will bet my ass it will turn down the same path as VB..

Java runs on a virtual machine. The sluggishness you see when you start a Java app is the Virtual Machine loading into Memory. Once the Application is started it is just as fast as any other application.
 
Well, we will cover Java also, later in the semester. I will tell you what I think of the two. At the moment nothing makes sense to me. Must return to my linux screen & try out some programmes lines.
 
Horizontal blinds supperior? you have got to be kidding me! the sun rises in the east and sets in the west so there is an overhead vertical progression. that means that at some point in the day the sun will be at an angle to stream in through horizontal blinds but vertical blinds work at all hours of the day uless the earth was some how not orbiting the sun but just rotating near by. You must be retarded!
