Any Architects in here?

Or any draftsmen who work for an Architectural firm? If there are, can you tell me if there is a new trend where you release drawings for bid without putting the elevation markers on the floor plan?? So someone estimating the job basically has to look at the Elevation first, and then work backwards to the floor plan to figure out which wall you are looking at! I swear, the quality of drawings seem to be getting worse and worse in the last few years.

Finish Your damn Drawings!

I'm not an architect, but I've done a couple site installation sketches. I'd have to agree that some artists no longer believe the fine art of life study illustration is needed when they have access to such a wide range of digital tools. Sad really.

That drive me bonkers too.


I worked with a builder who's architect still did his drawings by hand and they were not labeled at all and the dimensions did not match the scale of the drawing. So you didn't know if you should go by the drawing or the dimensions and if there were missing dimensions you couldn't measure the plans because nothing matched up.
