I went straight for the MCSE in '99 and always considered A+ a step down.

It's a degree in electronics engineering from a tech school (ITT). The problem with those schools (atleast ITT) is that while they do teach you properly, and in most cases better than a university (core courses are more in depth and tons more hands on), there are a lot of people who don't learn shit, but since they keep paying the tuition, they make ways to keep them moving along. So at the end of the program, there are about 10 guys who gradudate with you that didn't learn shit, but have the same degree as you. They give ITT grads a bad name. The degree has helped me find jobs, I currently work in the software engineering department for a CNC manufacturer. Unfortunately, many places look at tech school grads as "cheaper" labor/pay than a real university grad. Luckily for me, this palce has several ITT grads working here already who have paved the road of trust for me. I am currently trying to work on my master degree, but I want to get that from a real university. Universities will not accept most of the general ed's from ITT, so I am going to community college to get most of those out of the way. I don't mind, there a lot of subjects that I don't mind freshening up on.

I was thinking about going to ITT, but it just to damn expensive, and it is true what you say about having a technical degree. I think that I might attend Baker college.
