Another Unbelieveable doctor story

movie muscle

New member
I went in for a full physical a couple of years ago and had blood work done, the tests came back just slightly above normal for some of the levels.I had been totally clean for over a year and don't take any drugs or medication.I told this to my doctor her answer was that I was wearing my belt to tight and it had damaged my liver!!! and the high protein consumption was making it worse!!! I have some medical knowledge and did my own checking.I found out an athelete or persons that train with high intensity on a regular basis should take a couple of days off before blood work because levels will be elevated some due to the body processing lactic acid! I found this out in The American Medical Association journal. Can you fucking believe that stunned doctor, her answer was well I can't know every thing.Needless to say she is no longer my doctor!!

The great thing about the internet is that people can take more responsibility for their own lives....not just medical stuff, but also cars, home improvement, gardening....anything!!! You may have gotten that info from a journal, but the principle is the same.......research. Doctors are human too and we make mistakes, and are sometimes more stubborn than the common other people, but i think she could have had a better answer for you than that excuse. Her loss.

tight belt???.....could be. If you get punched in the liver or get a prostate exam, your levels will be higher. Never get a PSA level check after getting a rectal/prostate exam. Liver and belt....same principle. So do you wear your belt too tight? If not, then she was wrong.

Hahahaha,

Seriously though, I have not been to a doctor, other than a dermatologist, for the past 2-3 years. If I did, I wouldnt tell them about my gear use. I get pissed off enough when fuckin ignorant shits around me say creatine is dangerous and then try to argue with me by saying "Are you a doctor?" Fuckin pisses me off.

Doc Todd point taken I also forgot to state I hardly ever use a belt ,even on deadlifts and squats maybe on 1or2 sets a month tops.I believe in core stability work and building real usable power.A good point made though, many people don't take into account that physical trauma can also cause problems not just forgein elements in the blood stream.....Karde you always crack me up,If you saw this doctor I'm shure you would have plenty more to say.HaHa

The Almighty....I have been lucky enough to be hooked up with some top level doctors by some pro's I know. They did my bicep surgery and now I deal mostly with them....Just a couple of days ago a guy in our gym approached me for some help for a friend he works with, doctor said the man had done a muscle tear to his bicep. The problem was not a tear,it was detached. Now the doctor says it is to late and it can't be fixed. He can't do jack with his arm now.I know thier only human but don't be afraid to say you don't know, and refer them to a specialist.I sent him to the people who fixed me up hope he will be ok. I diagnosed my own bicep damage and the doctors at the hospital sent me home after my accident, and did nothing not even a phone call!!I then used my pro friends to help me out. I then got my own surgeon and got patched up 9 days later.

I know what you mean about the doctors and of course not knowing everything. I asked a doctor for nolvadex and she refused. Also I was told I had Gull Stones and a stomach ulcer which turned out to be 100% not true. But its good to get your blood work done thats what keepes me going back to see my liver function tests!
