Another reason to avoid alcohol

A lot of people on here talk about avoiding alcohol for various reasons. Basically it comes down to you ruin what you've worked hard for, limited gains and wasted money on juice. Well I have one more.

A close friend is moving away, so a few of us got together for a little send off party. To make a story of a long (and fun) night short, I have injured myself. I don't know how and neither do the others. Basically I have what feel like shin splints but worse. I'm talking it even hurts to wiggle my toes. I can't work my upper body because the entire right side of my back is really sore (mostly in the traps) Now I'm going to miss my strength and weight gain goals for this month. This also delays my cycle plans. One night is going to cost me a month, maybe more.

Sometimes lessons are best learned the hard way. Now you can pick yourself up, dust off your jeans, and get back on track armed with some new smarts ;)

Don't drink, simple as that :) People ruin their life with excessive drinking, from car accidents to liver problems to personal problems - that includes impotence.

I am a bit of a hypocrite in regards to this, as I do enjoy a glass of Italian wine (Chianti, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Brunello di Montalcino) once in a while.

Nothing wrong with drinking in moderation just as everythign else. Just bodybuilding is a pointless life.

Im not talking abiout geting hammered every night eighter. But geting a buz every now and then is completely healthy and i feel helps gains. The pumps you get after a good beer. CRAZY Seriously.

IMO if you cant allow yourself to drink responsibly because you are afraid of hurting your body...you are on WAY too much stuff....as most people are. On 5 grams of gear and then say "well i dont think i should drink" no realy genious.

I hardly drink and I'm far from being a bodybuilder. I just have set strict goals for myself. I don't think there's much wrong with a little buzz either. If my body is stiff from a hard week, I enjoy a few drinks to relax. This time I went overboard, but instead of a hangover, my legs and back somehow got messed up.

Sounds more like you just need to be a lttile more responsible when it comes to drinking. What are you gonna do though? Shit happens. We've all had our moments and will prolly have more to come. A few drinks every now and again is okay IMO. Getting comepletely hammered, again IMO, okay once again, but just not too often. I get hammered maybe a half dozen times a year. Just be smart. Moderation is key in life.

i used to drink all the time...damn near drank myself out of college.....i have finally quit, well not quit, but cut back

last saturday was the first time i drank in 6 weeks, I allowed myself 6 Miller Lites...got a nice little buzz while me and some bros played some poker

i figure a 6pk a month won't hurt a damn thing

Alcohol, and tobacco for that matter, is so dangerous it kills people that don't even use it. Your one glass of wine once in a while sounds more like European social drinking, not the American get oblitterated drinking.

I'm more of a wine connoisseur, so my idea of enjoyment is fruit, cheese and some wine. At the same time, generally, the drink-til-you-drop theory applies to a lot of Americans, that's including the 2 6packs ED guys.

I would agree with that. While I am a big advocate of not touching alcohol at all when on any cycle, I do not see anything wrong with social drinking like stated above. I just try and stay away from the booze alltogether because I am a frigin light weight and a cheap date. I had some southern comfort a few months ago and had to hold onto the lawn to keep from falling off the earth.

LOL... I know what u mean. I rarely drink... even when I have a sip of something i feel like it is eating away my muscle on the spot. (I have problems). But when I do cut loose... I feel my shirt getting tighter and my arms become rock hard. I always chalked it up as something going on in my head. Good to hear that it's not. :)

I hear you bro. Actually having a bear or two is good for you. Just like wine and our sophisticated Sir.X the King of wine. What ive come to nitice is that when you occasionaly drink you can get a good buz and it wont effect any gains...if at all it will positively. If you dont get a hangover the next day. Hangover means you have stripped your body of the watter neccesary, watter is neccesary in your muscle with the proper glycogen for growth, stability. Without it in severe instances and or prolonged periods of time you will experience hypertrophy.

And no this post does not apply to those of you on 400mg abombs +5 g test + 700mg/day winny and 1.5g tren/week

While cycling keep alcohol to a min.. one day a week, not trashing out, driking plenty of wather while drinking and way more after drinknig. Eat something too before hitting bed
