Bottom line - the man was sound of mind when he married her. He was a multi-millionaire, so he was probably no dumbass. He knew what she was after, but my guess is that his kids were after even more than she was. She provided him with companionship, and his sorry-ass kids probably hadn't seen him in 30 years. No one deserved the money, but if anyone did, it was probably her.
