Animals at the Gym -

OK - so we have had this "Morons" thread for a while and it is very entertaining, but it is also a negative thread - So, hows about a positive thread about what goes right in the gym. I will start.....

I work out in the same gym as Lee Priest. He brings a few different guys into the gym w/ him from time to time. A few weeks ago I saw one of his buddies in the gym by himslef..... he was close-gripping 405 for reps. It was a sight to see as Priest dosen't move much weight, and sticks to what looks like 25+ reps on all lifts. Anyway, this guy was a freak show.

My gym is filled with the kind of douchebags who workout in pink polo shirts, but there's one guy who always raises my eyebrows. I've seen him incline 405 for high reps, press 315 overhead for 8-10, flat 525 raw

the kicker is he doesn't think of himself as strong, and is one of the nicest humblest guys I've talked to. compare that to the hockey boys struggling up a shitty 225 assisted bench and strutting around like they're Tito Ortiz

It's strange, but it's always like that. The bigger/stronger guys are the nicest guys you'll ever meet - always willing to lend a spot and give advice if you ask for it. The smaller/weaker guys walk around like they own the place and get pissed if you ask them how much longer they're going to be using the bench for. Kinda like what Arnold said, if you have a Lamborghini, you don't need to race everyone on the street cus you know you can beat anyone.

There is a friend of mine in my gym who competes in BB. When "on" he used to rep with 180-200kgs in the squat and used to be one of the only ones which would do incline dumbell presses with 45kg dumbells.
Also I have seen him leg-press (inclined leg press) with all the weights in my gym + his GYMN PARTNER (who weighed around 176lbs). IT WAS A FORMIDABLE sight to behold. He was leg pressing with around 500kg or something (i do not remember exactly, so I might be a little innaccurate), it was retarded.
He is actually a really nice guy, who always helped me around.

BTW: the guy cited above was one of the only juiced guys in my gym who actually hit it hard. Some just take lots of juice and move little weight.

LOL , K

the other day we had a pretty famous former fitness model that now competes in strongman deadlifting 600 raw for reps! the guy still has an amazing cut physique- just bigger & one of the strongest dudes in the gym. too bad he has a girlfriend :(

Except for some modded muscle cars :)

a couple of huge juicers in my gym, but for some reason they only squat with a smith machine and never free weight. i was out of the gym for like 2.5 months, and i saw one of em yesterday when i went and hes packed on, what looks like, about 20 pounds of muscle with no fat gain. dudes shoulders were as big as my head.

this guy used to come to one of the gyms i worked out at before. must have been around 5'7" and jacked - maybe around 230. not sure what bf must have been around 5 or 6 when i saw him. so the day before his comp, he was doing a "light" workout... saw him squat 500lbs ATF for reps. then he tells me that he was a bit sore since he hadn't been working out for quite a long time. he claimed he was natty too!
